12-4-25   THOUGHTS

This is one of the last lessons Jesus ever taught.  I believe it is last for emphasis and importance!  Matt 20:16  "So the last shall be first, and the first last."  This is fundamental to “agape love” and root to all New Testament behavior.  The “servant theme” is here.  Selfishness is crucified in this teaching!  We must learn this to overcome spiritually and live with God eternally.  .  

John 13:12-17    So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you?  13  "You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14  "If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15  "For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. 16  "Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. 17  "If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.

Our Prayer:
Father, we praise and thank You!  O God, teach us to wash feet.  Help us to learn the joy in service and giving.  Help us to be a transformed, converted people.  May our love for You and Jesus grow to a powerful motivating force to bear fruit for the Kingdom.  We rejoice that You love us so awesomely.  Help us to speak of Your great love and deeds.  In Jesus,   Amen.
